Tsukuyomi Sasami Nendoroid #320

Back when Sasami was first announced I thought “Wow a nendoroid in pajamas! What a cute innovative idea!” Now GSC has released a full set of Nendo pajama trading figures so….so much for that. So anyway let’s take a look at this once upon a time innovative figure.

Right well Sasami is really cute, she’s got really messy hair that goes all over the place giving the impression that she’s just out of bed. Her eye decals are really nice, they’re vibrant and full of life. I also like the slight blush on her cheeks.

Her pajamas are decently painted, but one thing that really stands out to me are the buttons. The buttons aren’t sculpted outward. So are they just decoration? I mean I don’t know about everyone else in the world but the buttons on my clothes tend to stand out from the rest of what I’m wearing. I do like the stitches on her trim though, it’s a nice bit of attention to detail.

The bottom half of her pjs are also cute. It’s a long skirt that just barely shows her feet. I really like the ruffles at the bottom.

From the side her hair is horrible, no I’m not talking about the seam line running across her hair, I’m talking about the little seams. For every curl or messy bit of hair there’s an accompanying seam which looks bad.

As with most nendos her hands don’t have very much detail, but it’s cute anyway.

The back of her hair is really cute, it’s got nice definition and I love how it curls up near the bottom. It’s way cute.

The back of her wardrobe is fairly sub standard. What’s good on the front is good on the back. There isn’t really a whole lot to say.

If the other side was a disaster then this ones a travesty. I understand the concept of changeable parts as well as the next guy but seriously? Holes in her hair? And the seam for the replaceable piece is damn near  ridiculous.

Right so moving downward a bit, we see a slight curve to her spine which is a nice touch.

She comes with a night cap…which I’ll be perfectly honest, I hate. It’s ugly, it doesn’t fit on her head right, and it has not one but two hideous seams. Again I understand the point but it fails epically on an aesthetic level.

I do like the creases on the back of cap quite a bit.

The pieces of the hat don’t even rest against each other right which leaves awkward gaps. They don’t look cute or charming, honestly it just comes off as tacky.

Sasami’s next pose is what I’m going to call the “ACK! Pervert!” pose. She’s clearly yelling and has her arms posed over her chest.

Accompanying her closed eyes she also has tears forming. It’s really cute and very well done.

Her crossed arms really kind of suck too. The arms don’t fit together quite right leaving her with another unseemly gap. And theres an unsightly peg too. What the hell was GSC thinking with this? They delay half of their figures by two monthes and this is the quality we get?!?!?!?!

I’m not exactly sure what to call this face. Bored? Lackadaisical? Uninterested? Well what ever it is that they are trying to get across with this face it looks good enough… I just don’t get it….

She also has a sitting pose which is pretty cute and overall probably the best thing about this figure. Her skirt bells out nicely around her legs and the pieces fit together really easy. Her visor is a different story entirely. the plaint white plastic is unappealing and hinders your view of her face.

The side piece plugs easily into her hair, but doesn’t really help it’s crappy appearance any. The paint on this part of the visor does look pretty good though.

The laptop looks like a cheap toy. The keys have no defining attributes and the screen looks dull. The white border strays from the lines too. This looks like something that would have been a Barbie accessory (this is an insult) not something from a company like GSC.

The laptop has a peg on the bottom of it that plugs into her pajamas. It connects really easy and fits in super snug.

The two hair pieces only have minor differences, between them. Namely the shape of the part that plugs into the rest of her hair.

She has a pair of head phones that can go around her neck. There is no hope of them going over her ears though.

She has very funny very nubby little feet. They aren’t really very special in all honesty but it’s kind of a cute touch.

Very cute faces

Wide variety of poses

Good Paint

Doesn’t fit together right

Sloppy Accessories

Bad Seams

About Tekizen

I am a thirty three year old fujoshi. I adore Aniplex and Capcom both to a near criminal degree. I love cosplaying. Some of my favorites to date are Miles Edgeworth and Chrollo Lucifer. I am also currently working on Varuna. My absolute favorite genre is mystery. I LOVE a good mystery. I have a varying degree of fandoms. I love a lot of different anime, but I can honestly say I love old school american cartoons just the same. My favorite book is The Bacta War in the Star Wars X Wing novel series. I finally beat the Demi-Fiend! He was freaking hard!. I think that's all for now though.
