So here we are Persona 2 Innocent Sin is finally coming to an end. I’ve grown very fond of a lot of aspects of this game and I’m really looking forward to finally seeing the ending. So let’s check it out.
So we open back up in the final dungeon (I hope) with Maya thoroughly debating something with herself. Odd…even for her.
Of course this would explain quite a few things. Like the traps, and the random appearances of Trish and Igor, just when you need them.
Well Jun if you read the last comment it means that your thoughts are becoming reality, so in the spirit of Ghostbusters I would say don’t think anything.
You have got to be kidding me. FAIL Lisa FAIL!!!!!!
Hmm .. that would have been a really convenient way to end things, but I guess there must be some form of rules that dictate it.
Well no sense dwelling on it then.
Good job Ray. Good job, I’m not fighting the Stay Puffed Marshmallow Man.
So now we have the special gold edition of Eikichi’s dad who has like 16 ranks in martial arts, and clearly wants us all dead. Damn it.
And look at him he’s totally proud about the whole thing. He accidentally summoned a boss fight and he’s excited! That was not an easy fight.
And here we have another flashback who’s purpose is…..?
Oh to say Jun’s been lying to us from day one. How pleasant.
Jun’s dad was attentive and took care of him, just the kind of daddy I’d deny having. What a twit.
So taking after Eikichi, we get the reveal that Jun’s mommy never cared about him and in essence we end up fighting Metal Mommy next.
Why even bother trying to deal with this kid anymore? His head is so messed up there doesn’t seem like much point in trying to fix him.
…then the world will be forfeit. We know!
Great humanity is going to be lead to “perfection” by reatardo looking aliens.
Idealians, I’m never going to get over the absolute arrogance of her reffering to them as Idealians.
Of course he didn’t, the person we’re confronting isn’t your daddy. Your daddy is a ghost in the school’s clocktower. Has been since the start of the game.
So she’s a psycho who’s obsessed with Jun’s dad. I wonder if Mr Kashihara had any idea. If he did I’m going to guess he didn’t reciprocate her feelings, she probably wouldn’t be so psychotic if that were the case. This is going to be Lisa in ten years.
Of course the aliens wake up and immediately kill Mrs Ideal (big loss). So here we have another boss fight. Honestly these guys are kind of like fighting the Longinus’ again. At least they don’t seal personas.
So what Maya’s getting at here is something we’ll cover in significantly more detail when we hit Persona 4, but the shadows originate not in what you think of yourself, but in what others think of you. Creepy dontcha think?
So the group has finally caught up with the fact that the Mr Kashihara who is trying to destroy the world is not in fact the original (shock) but an imposter born from the minds of Jun and Mrs Ideal.
Of course he could just come to us…
It actually looks more like the place where Philemon kept dragging us every time we needed exposition.
Honestly I kind of forgot about Hitler…….
Damn straight! You tell him Maya!
I’ve always wanted the opportunity to whack Hitler in the head a few times, so let’s go!
Well that officially proves that this also is not a revived Hitler, but something using his skin.
Well Hitler just poofed into something, but Jun’s head is in the way….
Oh it’s not Mr Kashihara. I can’t stand this guy, he looks like Kotetsu Kaburagi drawn in a Megaten style. Sends shivers down my spine everytime I look at him…… I guess I wouldn’t admit if he was my dad either.
I guess in that essence he could be Jun’s “dad”
Well you know that would be really insulting if anyone in this room had bought into those rumors. The rest of humanity sure, but not four of the people in this room.
Well great job Jun, you are as expected an epic failure.
And this is all a perversion of Mr Kashihara’s dream that this generation wouldn’t have to know pain. So it’s a whole family of fail.
At least she’s willing to admit that she was a selfish bitch. That’s an improvement on some people..
Maya’s seriously pissed off as Jun’s parents disappear again. I think she wants to tear the Crawling chaos apart herself. Possibly bare handed.
But you haven’t. And there has to be a reason for that.
The exposition fairy shows back up to announce that we need to calm the hell down. Well Philly I bet you’d be pretty ticked off too.
WE?!? We? What the hell is this we crap?
Thus Persona 3 and 4!
Nyarly has other ideas though and he launches an attack at Maya…with the spear of Longinus. Crap.
I really hate it when Eikichi makes that face. He always looks so broken.
There is a small problem with this scene though. My Lisa doesn’t have healing magic.
To kill the ‘Maya’n woman. Of course. I should have seen that one coming a mile away.
Did I mention already that I have a personal (Evangelion based) grudge against that spear?
I always love it when people are trying to talk someone out of dying. Like “Don’t die Steve what about the convention this weekend.” That’s not going to help a fatal injury.
A concert debut (let’s remember how pleasant the last one was) and clothes shopping, that’s your motivation to live? Bloody brilliant.
Worst dying words ever…well barring Saya talking about milk anyway.
The summer ten years ago has to cease to exist huh? The summer that resulted in the group becoming friends (and Jun being a crazy brat). Well with friends like these…..
I’m going to try to alter reality so I have this weekend off work hold on…..nope. Dammit.
Wow she’s picky, you were just offered a Deus Ex Machina and you want a different one? Seriously? Your crush on Zenny is more important then the world?
Why not? You forgot everything once already.
I can’t believe they’re still trusting this guy, he made a freaking bet with the villain about how this would turn out. Right now he’s just trying to keep from losing his chips at the casino.
If anyone actually thanked him, I would love to meet them
So you punch him in his face, and lo and behold we see underneath that mask is Tatsuya’s face. I really hate Philly right now. He’s trying to teach us a lesson about how he’s “connected” to all of us so this was his loss as well. Screw him.
So there you have it the end of Persona 2 Innocent Sin. Next week I’ll give my closing thoughts and come the 9th We’ll start in on Eternal Punishment.
