Nico Robin Figuarts Zero

At thirty years old Nico Robin is still built to impress…She’s always dressed to look her best and whereas I miss both her old cowboy hat and megane looks I can’t deny that her outfit from the Return to Saboady Arc is pretty sexy. Let’s take a closer look at our favorite archeologist shall we?

Given her bright blue eyes we can quickly ascertain that we have anime version of Robin on our hands. Her eyes are beautiful by the way, bright, vibrant, and full of life. The iris’ are a dark blue with a lighter blue at the edges to draw out the color. Her sunglasses are painted quite nicely, they did a magnificent job shading the lenses. I also love the little bit of hairline over the top of the glasses. She has a nicely defined collarbone although I won’t hold it against anyone who didn’t notice, since her ample cleavage does pull attention away from her collar. Robin’s never lacked in the curves department and this figure definitely does that justice. Her bosom is very well-rounded and since our dear Robin is an anime character (they believe in deliberately buying clothes too small) we get the added guarantee that this shirt will never be zipped up. It’s just not physically possible….

Her arms of course are her deadliest asset so they had to be sculpted to perfection. They’re thin and unmuscled which is what one would expect from her. Her hands are beautiful with thin fingers readying for her attack. Her nails have a light pink hue to them that I never would have accepted from her old design, but with this get up it seems fitting. Her stomach is flat and damn sexy. the skirt she’s wearing is dangerously low however, I’ve heard of low riding before but this is probably pushing the limits a teeny tiny bit.

Tied tightly around her waist the skirt? Or is it a sarong? Clings nicely to her hips and groin. It loosens up after her hips to flow down her legs quite nicely. Maybe it’s because I’m a sap but I love seeing Robin in the pink with the flowers on it, her devil fruit being the Hana Hana No Mi it seems right. The paint job on her sarong could have been done better of course but only if you’re really picky. The green of the leaves strays from the lines once or twice but only marginally. The tassels at the bottom look great. A pair of simple pink high heels finish off this delectable wardrobe.

Robin’s sunglasses actually disappear under her hair, that looks very nice and is a fairly unique touch. Her hair you can see is layered, she very clearly  has a little eartails that aren’t visible from the front. The design on the front of her shirt looks very nice, the decal there is well placed and the image is clear.

Regrettably robin has a fairly visible seam line running down her torso as well as her sarong. There’s also a very blatant injection mark marring her lovely hips.

Her hair is being caressed by the wind causing it to flow up and to the side. The individual strands look good except for one  on the right side which has a pretty bad seam line where it was connected. Her shirt has some awesome folds on it too!

The curvature of her spine is very well done, which leads us down to some nice pirate booty. I think I mentioned awhile ago how her sarong conformed to her hips, well that has nothing on how it defines her tush.  This chick must have buns of steel to have that shapely a butt while wearing something like this. From there the back is fairly unremarkable all though it does still flow nicely around her.

The strands of hair framing her face really take off a little bit of her hard edge, makes her seem younger which for a timeskip design seems a little counterproductive……

Fortunately she doesn’t suffer from the same seams on this side. Her skin is flawless. Is it me or are One Piece’s girls unnaturally skinny…..no I mean even for anime, you’d think Sanji wasn’t feeding them.

I think the knot could have been sculpted a bit better, but it does look passable. The black scuff on the skirt though, that’s not passable. That sucks!

She comes with a clear base piece that clips to her skirt….but doesn’t hook to the base, so it supplies good support to keep her from leaning in the future but it doesn’t stay in place very well.

Her base shows the Hana Hana No Mi skull as well as her name. I think adding ‘Dead or Alive’ was a cool touch as well. Now onto the inevitable problem that a lot of toys have. It’s also probably the saddest thing you can run into. It’s a figure that is not on good terms with its base. If you’re really lucky you can get her to stay on her base long enough to put her on your shelf and scurry away. She fits very loosely on her base, you have been warned.

Robin’s box has two windows on it to showcase her excellence. The usual Figuarts rambling about Figuarts being easily collectible and charming is written in white on the box as well as the Time Skip slogan ‘For the New World’.

The back shows the figures highlights, face, bosom, and butt. It also shows both the front and back of her in full. The side of the box shows the entirety of the Mugiwara crew in their New World wardrobes.

Overall she looks really good, she’s got a nice sculpt, a nicer body, and a decant paint job. She only runs about 40 dollars which is 79,999,960 dollars less than her current bounty….In other words she’s well worth it for fans of One Piece, Nico Robin, or curvy babes.

About Tekizen

I am a thirty two year old fujoshi. I adore Aniplex and Capcom both to a near criminal degree. I love cosplaying. Some of my favorites to date are Miles Edgeworth and Chrollo Lucifer. I am also currently working on Tatsuya Suou. My absolute favorite genre is mystery. I LOVE a good mystery. I have a varying degree of fandoms. I love a lot of different anime, but I can honestly say I love old school american cartoons just the same. My favorite book is The Bacta War in the Star Wars X Wing novel series. I finally beat the Demi-Fiend! He was freaking hard!. I think that's all for now though.
