Nico robin is the ideal woman to me. Yeah sure there are all kinds of cute school girls out there in their sailor fukus, and they’re great. However for real ‘women’ in anime you have to look a little harder, Robin is the intelligent older woman of the straw hat crew. She’s also today’s review.
Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw hat crew. She ate the hana hana no mi fruit and through it gained extraordinarily cool powers. She joined the Straw hat pirates when she was 28 years old. She’s seen as a mostly serious character who had to struggle to find the value in her own life.
Her hair is cut just above her eyes and has some definition in her bangs. Her eyes are very simple, she’s looking slightly to the side as she holds out her hand. Her fingers are curled as she waits patiently. Her hand also has some bad lines on it where they clearly didn’t smooth it enough. Her boobs are surprisingly small for Robin, but they are very well shaped. Whether the large gold buckle across her stomach is a belt or to hold her jacket closed is not defined.
Her skirt is short, just long enough to cover what needs to be covered. Her legs are long, thin, and absolutely gorgeous. The light grey of the pantyhose creates a nice contrast against the black dress.
She wears dark grey high heels, they add to the appeal of her sexy legs. She also has some very well defined ankles.
Her jacket has a gold cross on each sleeve. The paint job is quite nice, neither cross leaves the boundary of where it’s supposed to go. The sleeves poof out at her wrists. The jacket is clearly textured to be furry. That’s way awesome.
The back of her hair isn’t very impressive, the top of it is perfectly rounded with no additional detail. Near the bottom though it separates for some pleasant wispy detail.
The gun fits firmly under hand with her fingers curled over it. Personally I’m more afraid of Robin without a gun, but I digress… the gun has a phenomenal paint job, Gold, silver, and brown, and not a dot of it is out-of-place.
The gun also rests firmly on her base. Going so far even as to have a peg on the bottom of the gun to keep it on the base. And speaking of the base, it’s clearly meant to be stone, with various cracks all over it. The almost puzzle piece-esque layout is also important, you see Robin is part of a set and if you buy her nakama they can all hook together.
I think almost any figure of Robin is well worth having in your collection purely for the purpose of being Robin. This one is a gem and truly remarkable quality. I will not hesitate to buy more prize figures of Robin in the future if the product says Ichiban Kuji!
