Shujinkou, Persona 3, Kotobukiya, 1/10 scale

A cute boy figure was a lot more rare in 2008 than nowadays, so rare in fact that Kotobukiya underestimated sales on this particular statue. They didn’t even make enough of him to fill the preorders! That’s right there’s only one bishounen that fits the bill this time. Shujinkou of Persona 3 fame.

Who is Shujinkou really? He’s quiet and unassuming, he isn’t good at sports, nor is he particularly smart. The reason behind this? It’s simple, its because Shujinkou is you. You decide how far he’ll go. Whether he’s brave or a coward, intelligent or not, its all in how you play the game. Shujinkou whoever he is had the misfortune of his parents dying in a car accident. Now he’s going to school in a new place, he has no friends or real motivation and that my friend is where you come in.

Shujinkou here is freaking cute. His purple eyes are wide as he stares straight ahead ready to summon his persona to fight. His mouth is set in a frown. His hair flops down in his face, his hair has degrees of shading all over it. He looks great! His white button down shirt is crisp and clean, there’s a breast pocket showing from under his jacket. He does not have buttons on his shirt though which is a disappointment. His headphones have teeny tiny little bits of kanji on them. I have no idea what it says though…. The zipper on his jacket also has some very nice touches to it. It’s actually got teeth.

The MP3 player he’s wearing around his neck has a small little LCD screen on it. It’s also got a cord coming off of it that leads all the way up to his headphones and around his back. It’s tiny and undefined barely even noticeable, but it is there. His coat is blowing back as he summons his power around him.His belt buckle is pretty undefined and the silver goes a little bit onto his belt.

His pants are tight. At his hip there are wrinkles from one leg being forward.

He’s wearing black boots, each one with thin grey soles and various straps. I think though I would have sacrificed a little of that detail for his pants to be just a little bit longer.

THe S.E.E.S. armband he’s wearing fits snugly around his arm. In very small black text it say ‘Special Extracurricular Excutesector’ but for some reason there’s a sizable space between extracurric and ular…

From under the edge of his sleeve you can see another amazing bit of detail, he’s wearing his watch. That is one of the most pointless pieces of detail I’ve ever seen, you can’t even tell he’s wearing it unless you are looking at it from underneath the figure. I was honestly pretty impressed by it.

The card he’s holding is blank, there’s no picture on it, just a bit of blue shading on it. I really wish they would have done more with it. His hand has great fingers thin sexy, I’m really fond of them.

His shoulders seams are way obvious. Like the front of his jacket the sleeves have small zippers on them, complete with teeth. They even have zipper pulls.

He’s got little silver buckles on the boots. Two on each boot.  The straps actually go beyond the buckles. Each boot has a prominent heel on it.  The base is simple, blue with half a gray sun on it. The picture is concluded on the base that comes with Akihiko Sanada.

For those who don’t like the card, he comes with an alternate arm, this one holds his S.E.E.S. pistol. There are prominent wrinkles on this arm from the way his elbows bent.

The box is really pretty, it has great character art on it as well as a large picture window to view the figure. It even has a picture of Orpheus on it, he was the first Persona you gain in Persona 3.

About Tekizen

I am a thirty two year old fujoshi. I adore Aniplex and Capcom both to a near criminal degree. I love cosplaying. Some of my favorites to date are Miles Edgeworth and Chrollo Lucifer. I am also currently working on Tatsuya Suou. My absolute favorite genre is mystery. I LOVE a good mystery. I have a varying degree of fandoms. I love a lot of different anime, but I can honestly say I love old school american cartoons just the same. My favorite book is The Bacta War in the Star Wars X Wing novel series. I finally beat the Demi-Fiend! He was freaking hard!. I think that's all for now though.

One Response to Shujinkou, Persona 3, Kotobukiya, 1/10 scale

  1. thingy says:

Yo I’d just like to point out that the length of his pants is 100% true to the in-game model. He wears them a bit shorter than average, and that detail is actually consistent for all his outfits involving pants. Most obvious is his winter alternate outfit (in FES and P3P) showing how short he wears his pants. You can view his outfits on his character model here: http://p3p.atlusnet.jp/special/blogparts.html and compare him to Junpei’s or Akihiko’s lengths of their pants.
