Today’s special treat comes in the form of….sweet holy Ra, Capcom made a 1/10 scale Miles Edgeworth. Someone in Japan must love me.
At 24 years old Miles Edgeworth has already done more than most people could manage in an entire lifetime. In his first four years as a prosecutor he never lost a single case, he’s an expert at golf, plays the flute quite masterfully, and he passed the Bar Exam at only 19. He gained ther nickname the Demon Attorney for his sheer ruthlessness in the court room. He’s a charcater who in each game changes a little bit more, going so far as in the latest game giving up the one thing that he thought truly defined him, his Prosecutor’s badge. Watching him open up and develop into the man he’s become has been like a dream come true.
His face is great, perfectly non-bishonen! His eyebrows are arching downward, as is expected of Mr. Edgeworth, and his eyes seem kind of sad. He looks almost downtrodden, fitting, but not a look I like seeing on Edgey. His triple cravat is huge! Fresh from the cleaners I’d guess to be getting that much poof out of it. Also it’s very hard to catch on camera but there is just a subtle hint of wrinkles between his eyebrows. A very nice touch!
He looks freshly pressed and ready to go about his day in style of course. The buttons on both his jacket and vest are large and stand out in an overexaggerated way as was Capcom’s initial intent. If you look closely at the jacket he actually has a breast pocket. I think though that overall his head does look a little too small for such largely masculine shoulders.
The lines along the legs of his pants make them look like the were folded up and placed in a drawer. Decently hidden, unless one is way to observant or looking way too close, is a seam line on the left side of his fly. Good try at hiding it Capcom but it’s my job to notice 😉
His legs are very well proportioned to his torso. Long without being too thin. His pant legs crinkle just a little bit over his shoes. His feet are adorned with very simple very well polished dress shoes.
The back of Edgey’s head is fairly detailed as well, the sculptor even kept that little tuft of hair that Miles just can’t seem to tame. An even sewing seam runs down the back of the jacket. You can also see how tense his shoulders are from the folds around his shoulder blades. The shoulder seams however stand out a bit too much and do visually distract from the figure.
For awhile there I thought I was destined to only review male figure with questionably flat butts, Edgey-poo proved me wrong though. The way the tails on his jacket fall more than proves that. Not to mention the all too obvious wrinkles. However the aforementioned well hidden seam on his pants…not so well hidden on the back…it’s pretty obvious actually. A good try on Capcom’s part mind you, I mean what kind of crazed fujoshi would ever be checking out the Perfect Prosecutor’s backside hmmm?
The back of his legs, much like the front. Look like they came fresh out of a drawer….he might want to invest in an iron. Then again with his work overrides sleep mentality it would probably never get used anyway.
Worthy does of course have a rather striking profile, if only his head were in proportion to his shoulders this would go from freaking cool to amazing! From the side his hair falls over his eyes and his frown looks a little more severe.
Like I said striking, right? The sculptor did an amazing job on his nose and lips. If only they’d covered that hair seem better and the one that hooks his cravat in place as well.
Onto my next miniature gripe there are no wrinkles down by where his hand is going into his pocket. One would think such an action would generally cause the jacket to bunch up a little bit there. Not this sculptor though, they just decided to make the jacket shorter on the sides…right.
The jacket has side pockets, definite bonus. You can also see the cuffs of a pristine white undershirt peeking out from his sleeves. His hands are tucked away in his pockets.
Miley’s base is a pleasant shade of green with a subtle tile pattern on it. It’s also very glossy.
So all in all what did I think of this figure? I think it’s Edgeworth so it’s awesome by default!
Paint: 9/10 Everything is painted the way it should be!
Pose: 8/10 Classic Edgey but it could afford to be a bit more dynamic
Sculpt: 5/10……. Individually each piece looks great, but together not so much.
Base: 5/10 The tiles are a nice touch, but seriously you can barely even see them.
I’m biased so three out of five Kudos.
