Hatsune Miku. Love Is War, Good Smile Company 1/8 Scale

Hatsune Miku has had some beautiful figures over the past few years, but this figure takes the cake and runs with it.

The detail on her face is amazing! Her eyebrows are slanted downward as she yells her feelings full force into the megaphone, you can feel the emotion of her song written out clearly on her face. She refuses to give up on her love, even if he’s unfaithful. Her mouth is open wide as she lets it all out.  Her eyes are focused clear ahead.

Her hair is equally as amazing as her face. Unlike the last Miku that I reviewed (Append Version) this one’s hair is entirely caught up in the wind. Yes that’s right even her bangs are moving in the wind….Thank you Good Smile.

Her tie and skirt are clearly caught up in the wind as well (we’ll come back to the skirt with a better pic later though), even the edges of her shirt, if you look up by her shoulders, are moving with the figure itself. That is amazing attention to detail. Her shirt has some great lines to it, wrinkles where it’s being blown, the seam lines make it look like it’s actually been sewn together.

The megaphone features a heart on it, as well as Miku’s trademark shade of blue around the outer edge. Her fingernails are painted as well, all five of them on each hand (pointed glance at Append Miku) one finger rests on the trigger of the megaphone.

The megaphone has a cord coming out of it, the wire is honestly quite a pain. It wraps around her body and her other arm, but it doesn’t have another place to connect to the base…..so it comes out of her other hand really easy. Just above her little arm sleeves is the typical 01 that is Miku’s character number. The sleeves contain a digital read out, it’s pretty cool.

Like the other sleeve there is a digital read out on this one as well. Her hand is extremely well sculpted, as she starts to clench it back towards the wire.

She’s got some great hip action going on here, her body is very feminine without being overdone. I said up there somewhere that I’d come back to that skirt. Man the wind is whipping it around, this is probably the most detail I’ve ever seen put into a figures clothing before. Wind swept and pulling up with the realism of someone who was standing on top of a large building. You might think that the front of her skirt should be doing the same, but that’s fairly illogical with the way her legs are positioned with her lunging forward there’s no way the front of her skirt would be blowing upwards.

The biggest weak point on this figure is this… her underwear. Not only do they blatantly dig into her hips, but they are extremely tiny as well. I mean tiny and they look like they’re falling off. I don’t know why they made this one point like this but at least it’s from the back view.

The rest of her back is quite nice. Her shoulders are tense as she lunges. The back of her shirt tails are pulled up in the wind. There’s a little bit of subtle shading between her shoulder blades as well.

Her hair looks gorgeous from the back as well. The little squares around her pigtails are extremely delicate, she wears her usual headphones, so Miku doesn’t have ears this go round. Her pigtails have metal pegs. I love that! But they fit in pretty tight so you have to be über careful putting them in.

One leg is kicked up behind her as she’s in mid movement. The other foot is planted firmly on the ground.

She’s standing on a grate. The metal ACTUALLY looks rusted. The rail is sturdy and not very likely to come up or fall over.

The Post has bolts, bolts! Multiple bolts! I decided that I would wrap the wire around the back of the base so as to make sure it doesn’t come loose. The grate hooks to it very easily.

The tower itself is nicely done and stands tall, it’s just as rusted as the rest of it. With bits of silver shine peaking through. It stands just barely taller than Miku’s hair. The wire wraps around to the back of the base, so however you chose to keep it in place that’s where it’ll stay.

She looks great with a nice cloudy background.

Her box is freaking huge with art of the figure on all sides. No windows, just a huge box. It’s pretty awesome.

Pose: 10/10

Sculpt: 10/10

Paint: 10/10

Overall Enjoyment: 10/10 I freaking love this figure, she’s damn near perfect!

About Tekizen

I am a thirty two year old fujoshi. I adore Aniplex and Capcom both to a near criminal degree. I love cosplaying. Some of my favorites to date are Miles Edgeworth and Chrollo Lucifer. I am also currently working on Tatsuya Suou. My absolute favorite genre is mystery. I LOVE a good mystery. I have a varying degree of fandoms. I love a lot of different anime, but I can honestly say I love old school american cartoons just the same. My favorite book is The Bacta War in the Star Wars X Wing novel series. I finally beat the Demi-Fiend! He was freaking hard!. I think that's all for now though.
